  Bryan?
It has been an honor serving the different capacities but especially this year as your President. We are planning to have a year of change at North Piedmont. The first is the relocation of the meeting to downtown Greensboro in the Kress building. This move makes it imperative that we have a count on the number planning to attend this year. If we do not have a good count then there will be people that don't get dinner! And no one wants that! We are trying desperately to have meetings that will be targeted to your business and be timely information. Bryan Holcomb is doing a great job at setting up speakers and topics. We are going to try and bring as many different types of meetings to North Piedmont as possible.

Andy has left big shoes to fill and I feel that weight. I hope that I can achieve half of what Andy did last year. The main thing that I would like to see this year is to bring value to the membership while bringing as much fun in as possible.

History
by Morgan Jones   History
Ice & Refrigeration

Joseph F. Nickerson founded the monthly publication Ice and Refrigeration in 1891 to communicate developments and news in the mechanical refrigeration field, particularly for the newly expanding ice making industry. The publication, reflecting the reduced importance of ice manufacturing, changed its name to Industrial Refrigeration in 1953.

Membership Promotion
by Kevin Heywood   Membership
It is good to be back for a new year, but as always, membership could use your help. We have a great deal of members who have forgotten to renew their membership. In the next month I will be posting a list of the members who are delinquent. Please logon to the ASHRAE website and renew your membership has soon as possible.

North Piedmont is very eager to find new members this year. If there is anyone you know that might be interested in joining ASHRAE please have them call me. Kevin Heywood 336-292-8777

Research Promotion
by Waylon Ethridge   Research
I would like to start off by saying "Thank you" to all of the companies and individuals who gave to Ashrae Research last year. The North Piedmont chapter raised $31,020.00. WOW!!! ASHRAE sets a benchmark of $100 per member for outstanding performance. We far exceeded the $100 per assigned member!!!!!

Of course, this is a new year.......so I will be requesting your support of ASHRAE Research again.

Our fall golf outing is rapidly approaching (next month) and it will be held at Greensboro National. Details on the golf outing to follow...

Student Activities
by Tony Palozzolo   Student Activities
We look foward to a great year interacting with the various educational venues in our area. Today's students are the source of our future.
Consider spending a little extra time when explaining a concept that you are familiar with to others that may not be as much of an expert. Learning never stops
