Well those of you that missed our first
meeting let
me tell you our on Chuck Gulledge did as
good a job
at delivering a topic that could (in the wrong
hands) be as dry as melba toast. Great job
Chuck!!!
We are now more than half way home and
we need to
make our final push. Things to look forward
to are
the spring golf outing. Don't be like me a wait
until the last minute start getting your team
together now. Also every year we see a rush
to get
ASHRAE members on ASHRAE Members
teams. Lets
make a
big effort to get non-ASHRAE Members in
attendance.
It gets more people at the event and is a
great
marketing time for the organization.
We are continuing to bring value to your
membership
dollars with this months meeting. Gerry
Chapman
Esq. is a lawyer that specializes in
immigration
law. Any trip to a construction site will
confirm
that this is an issue that we all need to be
aware
of proposed changes and what we need to
do to
protect your intrust.
ASHRAE supports Math Counts. On
Saturday 2-10-07
ASHRAE members were onsite to grade test
for this
years Math Counts event. Thanks to all that
helped
out.
Thanks to Bryan Holcomb we have some of
the best
meetings of the year yet to come, so mark
down the
dates and plan to be downtown.

the North
Piedmont Chapter Technology Transfer

1906 – (The Phrase) Air Conditioning
Stuart Warren Cramer was born on a farm in
Thomasville N.C on March 31, 1868. Mr.
Crammer
came up with his famous phrase in 1906, the
same
year that Willis Carrier installed the South’s
first air
conditioning system at the Chronicle Cotton
Mills in
Belmont N. C. Cramer died in 1940, the
holder of 60
patents and the founder of Cramerton, in

Membership Promotion |

by Kevin Heywood
|
|
Membership has been having a strong year.
We have
and handful of new members. Let’s try to
invite as
many guests as possible to come to our
February
meeting. Be sure to invite people who may
be
outside the HVAC industry but are interested
in what
we do, i.e., Architects, Building Owners, etc.
As always, we strive to have Positive
Membership
Growth. The key to this is Positive Net
Growth is to
have everyone renew their membership. In
the next
month I will be posting a list of the members
who are
delinquent. Please logon to the ASHRAE
website and
renew your membership has soon as
possible.
If there is anyone you know that might be
interested
in joining ASHRAE please have them call
me. Kevin

We are coming to a close in another great
year for
North Piedmont. As of February 1st, we
have raised
$25,000, which puts us $1,000 dollars short
of our
goal and we still have 4 months left.
Thanks to all of the North Piedmont member
and
corporate sponsors that continue to help the
North
Piedmont chapter remain one of the top
chapters in
the world when comparing resource dollars
donated
per member.
The next research event is the Annual Spring
Golf
Outing. This will be in May and details will be
sent
out in March. We are finalizing the location
and date.
We would like to get our attendance for this
back up
to the 90-100 golfers that we have had in the
past.
I would like to thank all the Platinum
Sponsors that
have helped us get the year started. Our
goal for
2006-2007 year is $26,000. We are well on
our way
there!
